Libby is an app used by libraries to host their digital collection of print and audio books. You can use your library card number (and PIN if applicable) to sign into the Libby app and access your specific library's digital resources.
To get access to more books, you will need more library cards which you can get in a variety of ways...
Share a card with a friend! Multiple people can use the same card on Libby accounts. Both of your rentals will count toward your loan/hold maximums, but I have never run into this being an issue!
Find additional cities that allow non-residents to access digital library cards! More on that below...
Non-Resident Library Card Tips
A lot of libraries are willing to offer reciprocal access to residents of surrounding towns! Check out your surrounding area libraries to see if any of them will allow residents from your city to get a library card.
Many libraries have also opened their digital collections to ALL state residents. So google and see what cities allow all residents in your state to get a card!
Do you work or go to school in a different city than you live? You can often get a card in both!
You can also typically purchase guest access to any library for a small yearly fee.
Are you a Texas resident? Here are some cities who will allow you to have a card no matter your city!
Wimberley
Grand Prairie
Montgomery County
Houston
Harris County
North Richland Hills
Longview
Live in another state? Check out this blog post to see some options in your state!
To add your new library cards:
Click the 3 lines in the bottom center of your Libby app
Under "Your Libraries" click "Add Library"
Search for the city name and select the library closest to that city (it may not be the same name listed on your library card but try it out anyway) and enter your library card details!
